“Museum of Modern Art in Porno” - Vol. 2 is here to show you a curated selection of older artworks, drawings, cartoons and illustrations, paintings, editorial spreads and more featured in all-male chapbooks, erotica, and stories from vintage magazines.
Many of these timeless artworks might have never been seen before and many more have been forgotten in the pages of amazing magazines like Drummer, Honcho, MEN, Spank!, One Magazine, After Dark, Bear Magazine, Torso, Cruel and many other vintage erotica. These illustrators, artists, painters, and designers have influenced the work of many established and growing contemporary queer artists.
This edition aims to breathe new life to these works of art that have defined gay sex life, queer media, print and illustration for decades. The timeline of these creations spans from as early as the crisp Summer of 1971 to the late Fall of 2005 and are an indelible record of gay history; from the early years following Stonewall, through the ravages of the AIDS epidemic, to the early aughts where glimpses of inclusion and equality were starting to come into focus.
