'Unity + Progress'

Framed 8”x10”Print

“Unity + Progress” is an original artwork designed and drawn digitally by the artist, Danny Warhole. Drawn in Dannys signature style, he uses straight lines to create shadows and contours on the otherwise flat sketch. It is professional printed on card stock, and the back of the image is signed.

“Unity + Progress” was actually derived from an earlier drawing entitled “Jock2Jock” that Danny re-envisioned in 2021. Danny is lucky to have a diverse chosen family who has served as the inspiration for many of his drawings. However, the nature of his drawings, which are black and white line drawings and often depict the backside of his models, do not necessarily make clear the diversity of Danny’s subjects.

Danny has experimented with different ways to capture some of the diversity that often get lost in his work, and make representation more prominent with the use of color, etc. This drawing of two men kissing is modeled (i.e. shaded) with the Progress Pride Flag to represent that the kiss between these two men is only possible because of a diverse coalition of human beings. It is an ode to those who have fought to get us to where we are, and our obligation to pay it forward for future generations so that they can enjoy their love in whatever form they choose.
